Christmas games for youth group (with a Bible point)
Seven Christmas games for ages 11–18 that are genuinely fun, plus a short Bible point for each so the night isn't only a party.
Updated 1 November 2026 · How we pick resources
Teenagers will play almost anything if it's competitive, a bit silly and doesn't feel like school. These games work for groups of 6 to 60. Each has a one-minute Bible point you can use to move into your talk.

Nativity myth-busters
Read a statement; students move to one side of the room for "Bible says it" and the other for "Not in the Bible":
- There were three wise men. (Not stated: the Bible lists three gifts, not how many Magi came, Matthew 2:11.)
- The wise men came to the stable on Christmas night. (Matthew 2:11 says they found Jesus in a house.)
- An innkeeper turned them away. (Luke 2:7 says there was no room; no innkeeper is mentioned.)
- Angels appeared to shepherds at night. (Bible says it, Luke 2:8–9.)
- Jesus was born in Bethlehem, as the prophet said. (Bible says it, Micah 5:2, Matthew 2:5–6.)
Bible point: The real story is less like a Christmas card and more surprising: God arrived quietly among ordinary people.
Carol Pictionary
Teams take turns drawing a Christmas carol title ("Silent Night", "Joy to the World", "O Little Town of Bethlehem", "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing") without words or numbers. First team to sing the first line wins the point.
Bible point: Many carols quote Scripture. "Glory to God in the highest" is from Luke 2:14.
Wrap your leader
Each team gets a roll of wrapping paper and tape and has three minutes to wrap one volunteer (face uncovered). Judges award points for coverage, creativity and the best bow.
Bible point: We wrap gifts because we love the people we give them to. "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son" (John 3:16).
Christmas survey showdown
A Friendly Feud-style game: two teams guess the most popular answers to questions like "Name something you hang on a Christmas tree." Three strikes and the other team can steal. It's a great mixer because nobody needs Bible knowledge to join in, which helps visitors feel welcome.
Crowd Says: Christmas Party Edition
A Friendly Feud-style survey game for two teams: guess the top answers, flip them on the board, three strikes and the other team steals. 12 editable rounds, automatic scoring and a double and triple finale. Great for family nights and youth group parties.
Bible point: Survey answers show what most people think Christmas is about. What would the angels' answer have been? (Luke 2:10–11.)
Gift-swap trivia
Everyone brings a cheap wrapped gift (set a $5 limit). Ask Christmas story questions; a correct answer lets that student pick a gift or steal one already opened. Use the Teens questions from our free Christmas trivia.
Bible point: The Magi brought costly gifts (Matthew 2:11). What does it look like to give Jesus our best?
Star-to-star relay
Teams line up. Each player carries a paper star balanced on an upside-down cup to a marker and back. If the star drops, they restart. First team finished wins.
Bible point: The Magi followed the star a long way to find Jesus (Matthew 2:9–10). What's worth that kind of effort?
A Bible game show that's hard enough for teens
Most kids' Christmas quizzes are too easy for teenagers. Our Christmas game show has a separate Teens (14–18) level that goes deeper into the prophecies and the meaning behind the story, so older students are actually challenged.
Bible Showdown: The Christmas Story
A click-to-play Bible game show covering the prophecies, the angel messages and the nativity. Kids, preteens and teens each get their own 25 questions plus a Final Round, all with Bible references. Plays in any web browser with automatic scoring, or as a PowerPoint, with printable cards for classes without a screen.
